CROMWELL Property Group has appointed Matthew Bird to run the business in the United Kingdom.
Bird has more than 20 years’ experience, most recently as director and head of commercial at Octane Capital. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Legal & General Real Assets and Frogmore, the UK private equity real estate manager.
Cromwell’s managing director, Europe, Mark McLaughlin said Bird will spearhead Cromwell’s UK activities as it continues to implement its ‘invest to manage’ strategy and build scale.
Cromwell manages more than €7.3 billion of assets globally of which €3.7 billion are located in Europe.
“We are delighted to welcome Matthew on board. He has extensive experience and a strong track record of unlocking off-market situations and generating value through his network of contacts across agency, investors and debt providers in all sectors including Central London, alternatives and multi-sector portfolios,” he added.
Bird said this is a great moment to join the team, “as they look to leverage Cromwell’s established European platform of 20 office in 12 countries to increase assets under management across Europe and the UK.”
Bird graduated with a First Class honours degree and received a Post Graduate Diploma in Surveying from the University of Reading.
