SENTINEL Property Group has appointed real estate industry leader and valuer Paul McDonnell to the newly created role of director of property.

McDonnell will start from August 5 as part of the group’s executive team and will be responsible for the property and asset management divisions.

Sentinel managing director Warren Ebert said he was a key appointment.

“Paul has more than 30 years’ experience in investment property in all states of Australia and will bring a wealth of property experience, professional leadership and strategic development to the benefit of the Group.

“He has an enviable track record and his areas of expertise include portfolio management, asset management, property management, development and leasing in commercial, industrial, retail and hotel property,” Ebert said.

McDonnell has held senior roles with Racing Queensland, AMP, Cromwell Property Group and the Port of Brisbane as well as serving on many committees and boards for the Property Council of Australia (PCA) and the Australian Property Institute (API), including recently serving five years on the Divisional Council of the Queensland PCA.

He has a Bachelor of Economics and post graduate qualifications in economics from the University of Queensland. He is also a qualified valuer and a fully licensed real estate agent in Queensland.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work with Warren and the outstanding team at Sentinel,” McDonnell said. “Since he established Sentinel in Brisbane in 2009, Warren as Managing Director has overseen the spectacular growth of the Group and I look forward to contributing to the next phase of the journey.”
