THE longstanding, heritage-listed Victorian-style mansion home to Prahran’s Jacques Reymond restaurant has been listed for sale with expectations of more than $4 million.
Originally constructed as one of two identical residences, the two storey house at 78 William Rd was built in the 1880s as a wedding gift to the owner’s daughter. Since the middle of the 20th century it has been home to fine dining, award-winning restaurants including Allison’s, Jacques Reymond and Woodland House.
Colliers is marketing the property on behalf of the Reymond family.
The property’s heritage façade, expansive rooms, abundant natural light and high quality improvements offers a range of potential future uses, with scope to convert back to residential use, continue as a restaurant or hospitality venue, or be repurposed for medical, education or commercial uses.
Originally constructed as one of two identical residences, the neighbouring property could provide a blueprint for 78 Williams Rd, providing a four-bedroom residence with formal dining room, living room and ground floor kitchen area.
