Surfs up, Cronulla beachside sold before auction

PRO-SURFER Luke Egan and Fox Sports presenter Jessica Yates have found a buyer for their spectacular Cronulla beachside home ahead of its scheduled auction next week. Located in one of the suburb’s most tightly-held enclaves, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom 20 Links Avenue property was being marketed by Highland Property’s Laura McKay with a guide of $5.5 million. Located just a short stroll from Wanda Beach and the open shoreline of Cronulla’s Bate Bay, the home offered a prime opportunity for the buyer – a local – to gain a foothold in the idyllic beachside neighbourhood.

Cronulla’s median house price surged 17.5% in the 12 months to September to $3.175 million, according to realestate.com.au. Yates has been a leading presenter on Fox Sports for over 15 years. She is the face of Fox Sports V8 Supercar and F1 coverage as well as hosting NRL game day coverage on Fox League. Egan competed on the world stage for more than 25 years, ranked world number two in 2000 and was consistently ranked in the top five. He continues to coach high-profile surfers including Joel Parkinson, Connor O’Leary, and Caroline Marks.

The Links Avenue home features a marble kitchen and butler’s pantry, an “indulgent” master retreat with ensuite, walk-in robe and north-facing deck, and has a fully tiled in-ground saltwater pool with cabana and a full bathroom at the rear of the  property. The modern interior has a polished concrete floor on the ground level with underfloor heating to maintain a cosy environment during winter.
