THE Assure Partners Consortium including John Holland, Pindan, Capella Capital and Honeywell, have won the $232 million contract to build and maintain the Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison replacement in Western Australia.
The $232 million project involves construction of a new state-of-the art 350 bed prison at Kalgoorlie that will cater for both genders across all security ratings.
John Holland group managing director Glenn Palin said social infrastructure is one of the company’s core competency areas.
“In a first for the region, the new prison will be designed to engage Aboriginal prisoners in culturally appropriate programs and courses,” he added.
The design phase of the project will commence in January 2013, with construction anticipated for completion by the fourth quarter of 2015.
