CBUS Property has awarded Brookfield Multiplex the $220 million contract to construct Medibank's new headquarters at 720 Bourke St in Docklands, Melbourne.
Designed by Hassell Architects, the 16-storey building will comprise of 46,500 sqm of office space and 2,000 sqm of retail space and 70 car parking spaces.
Brookfield Multiplex Victoria managing director Graham Milford-Cottam this building is unlike any other in Melbourne’s CBD or Docklands precinct.
“The level of greenery in this building will definitely set a new benchmark for the design of future commercial developments,” he added.
“We are very pleased to be invited to continue our long-standing relationship with Cbus Property. We are currently constructing other exceptional buildings in Melbourne for Cbus including 171 Collins St and 700 Bourke St which is immediately adjacent this new project,” he added.
720 Bourke St will have a central atrium extending through all floors delivering an abundance of natural light. ESD features will include recycled water use, a 230,000 litre storage tank for rainwater catchment, building management system, timer controlled mechanical and electrical systems and an under floor air distribution system.
