EARLY works for Daisho’s new $300 million commercial tower 180 Brisbane are complete, paving the way for construction to commence.
180 Brisbane is the first to be constructed in Brisbane on-spec since the global financial crisis. Undertaken by Watpac the works included modifications to neighbouring 192 Ann St (formerly Mincom Central), also owned by Daisho, to allow for the construction of the new 34-storey building.
Daisho general manager Yasuo Iwasaki said the project is an extremely important project for the company and for the Brisbane CBD as it represents a renewed confidence in the future Brisbane and Queensland.
“Daisho has owned 192 Ann Street since 2001 and 180 Brisbane will be another high-quality addition to the city and Daisho’s long-term investment here,” he added.
Iwasaki said local and interstate companies are already showing keen interest in becoming tenants of 180 Brisbane when it is completed in late 2015.
Knight Frank’s Graham Clarkson and Colliers International’s Mark McCann are the leasing agents.
Daisho Group is a global property company with in excess of $US1.5 billion worth of assets in Japan, Malaysia and Australia. In Australia, it also owns the Park Hyatt in Sydney.
