JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group has made two new appointments to its national hotel team.

Nick Butler joins the Sydney team from Manenti Quinlan Hotel Brokers and Will Connolly joins the Melbourne office from CBRE.

Together, they have a combined 20 years’ experience.

Butler has a strong hotel transaction record, handling over 20 deals over the past 18 months. He also founded, and later sold, his own wine wholesaling business, Cogito and therefore brings to JLL strong hands-on industry experience. Since joining JLL, he has already sold the Empire Hotel in Annandale in an off-market transaction for $10.3 million and the Harold Park Hotel in Sydney for circa $6 million.

Connolly’s recent transactions including the Royal Saxon Hotel, Richmond and the Marine Hotel, Brighton. With a 70-year family background in hotel broking, he will focus on the Melbourne market and across southern states.

JLL’s national director John Musca said the addition of Nick and Will to the national team to focus on the Sydney and Melbourne markets will give added impetus to our activity across Australia.

“Already in the first half of this year, JLL’s team has sold 9 hotels totalling worth circa $150 million in a market that has witnessed nearly $500 million of transactions for the financial year 2019.” Musca said.
