BRISBANE’S hotel market is booming with the opening of the new five-star Westin, the sixth new property this year.
The 299-room Westin hotel is part of a larger mixed-use development including the Mary Lane Residences. It will occupy levels one to 16 with the Mary Lane Residences from level 17 to 36.
The Westin and its neighbour, Four Points by Sheraton, are operated under the Marriott International and The Westin Brisbane is owned by Chong family-owned Mary 111 Pty Ltd.
Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones said the new Westin is a ringing endorsement of Brisbane’s growing reputation as a world-class tourist destination.
“It adds to our already impressive portfolio of hotels that are transforming the profile of Brisbane as a global hub for tourism and major events.
“We’re seeing a record number of visitors travelling to Brisbane. We want to see these numbers continue to grow in the future.” Jones said.
