AGENTS Burgess Rawson has made two key senior appointments in Yosh Mendis and Geoff Sinclair, as the agency works to expand its operations in NSW, after more than $1.7 billion in commercial sales over 2021.
Medis will join Australia’s largest privately-owned commercial agency as partner and head of agency NSW. Mendis was at Cushman & Wakefield for over seven years, where he specialised in selling fuel, fast food, childcare, and convenience-based retail assets.
Over 2021 Mendis both recorded the highest auction result for a childcare investment in Sydney and the sale of $300 million in commercial property.
While Sinclair also comes to Burgess Rawson from Cushman & Wakefield, after almost seven years, having also worked at Colliers International in Canada.
Sinclair will focus on convenience retail, medical and the industrial investment sectors in his new position, after racking up $200 million in commercial property sales over 2021.
“We are delighted to welcome Yosh and Geoff to the fold. Their experience and expertise are remarkable. We have big plans for the Sydney business and have confidence we can deliver exceptional results for our clients with this powerhouse team in place,” said Ingrid Filmer, CEO at Burgess Rawson.
In 2021 Burgess Rawson managed the sale of 364 commercial properties, for a combined value of $1.785 billion, up on $574 million across 184 sales in 2020.
The agency also saw a record increase in its average sale price, from $3.22 million in 2020 to $15.93 million in 2021, during a period where much of the sales were made sight unseen as a result of the global pandemic.
“Our national approach of combining our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane businesses has proved hugely successful, especially with end-to-end services, as well as the depth of our national database, market research, analytics, and commercial experience. We deliver unparalleled market expertise in investment sales, backed by the power of our national presence,” concluded Filmer.
